Lisa Kirkland, MA, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
I am a mindfulness-based psychotherapist working both in-person and providing Telehealth.
Together we will work to identify your personal strengths, and challenge negative thoughts and core beliefs using evidence-based mindfulness techniques and trauma-focused therapies, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
EMDR is a therapy that reduces triggers and distressing thoughts, feelings, or memories that remain after difficult or traumatic events. EMDR can help after a one time event, like a car accident or traumatic birth, and for chronic adverse experiences that have built up over time.
I specialize in supporting clients in pregnancy and postpartum mental health and wellness.
I also help adolescents, adults, and families increase self-awareness, acceptance, and connection. I create a safe space for my clients to work through many different challenges, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD.
I strive to provide a warm, empathetic, and compassionate atmosphere that empowers people to learn about themselves and grow. I believe the relationship between the client and the therapist is the most important part of successful therapy. Please reach out to schedule a free consultation. I look forward to connecting with you.
