  • Lisa Kirkland, MA, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

As a psychotherapist I believe that the relationship between client and therapist- one where you feel safe, supported and deeply heard by your therapist- is the most important part of successful therapy. My past work as a doula and apprentice-midwife fuels my passion in the area of postpartum and perinatal mental health, and I specialize in helping mothers and families that struggle after childbirth. I also work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, dealing with many different challenges. These can include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD.

I take a mindfulness-based and whole-person approach to psychotherapy. We will work to identify your personal strengths, build compassion, coping skills and resilience, and transform suffering and trauma by reconnecting to your truest Self. Techniques like CBT, narrative therapy, EFT/Tapping, play therapy, art therapy, and trauma-focused therapy can be used.

I strive to provide a confidential, empathetic, and compassionate atmosphere that empowers clients to grow, reach their goals, and improve the quality of their lives. I offer in-person or teletherapy appointments. Call or email to schedule a free consultation appointment for me to get to know you, and for you to see what therapy and working with me is like.
